No newsletter this week
Given the events of the past few days, I’ve decided to not release this week’s usual content.
I am not going to share my thoughts and opinions about the last few days because you didn’t subscribe to this newsletter to read those thoughts. Suffice it to say, I’m overwhelmed with grief.
I will share a little about my history and then make an ask.
More than twenty years ago, I was an activist for Palestinian rights. I made it my business to be educated on the issues. I was vocal. I was opinionated. Much of my identity was intertwined with being that activist. I cared and still do care.
Palestinians in Gaza are some of the most underprivileged people on this planet.
Underprivileged is not even a strong enough word to describe their situation but I am doing my best to avoid charged language.
They are now under an unprecedented siege, blocked by Israel from the basic human rights of water, electricity, and food.
Lenny Ratchisky used his newsletter today to call out to his half a-million subscribers to donate to Israeli NGOs. That’s his right.
I have around 125 subscribers to this newsletter and symbolically, my small voice is asking you to help Palestinians in Gaza by donating to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency For Palestinian refugees.
Salaam.
